"Thanks to communications sponsors, the team is able to maintain our web site, check email, coordinate visits, and communicate with media and followers in innovative ways. Companies like Iridium, Telenor, Marlink, and Thrane & Thrane provide our team with a mobile office that's every bit as capable as our headquarters back home," said Nick Baggarly, expedition leader and Drive Around the World founder.
Corporate sponsorships make this capability possible.
"Iridium is pleased to provide satellite voice and data communications to the LONGITUDE Expedition. We're glad we can help the team communicate with those who can further their cause" said Will Kraus of Iridium.
"Immediate and reliable global communications are an essential requirement to the LONGITUDE Expedition and the team members. Telenor and Marlink are excited to be part of the LONGITUDE support team as they drive the globe to raise awareness of Parkinson's Disease," noted Tom Surface, spokesperson for Telenor Satellites Services and Marlink.
